‘The Still Life portrays the mundane and unremarkable objects of daily life. These are in fact the elements of daily existence. These ‘totem’ paintings reference not only our surroundings but also the predicaments of our modern lives.’

Since finishing art school I dedicated my time to painting. It was my strongest desire to unravel all the secrets of oil paint. Now, the secrets seem to grow, as is often the case with them... Oil paint is the hardest medium for me. With acrylics, inks and other stuff I have no trouble at all. Must be the reason why I keep being drawn to the oils. Being a painter offers me the possibility to watch the world, its people and turn all these observations into small theatrical settings.

The work "X" is from a series of unique monoprints that I made in 2014 (a number from which having already sold to private collectors). The work is inspired by whitewashed windows. Whitewashed windows continue to fascinate me and recur in my practice. In addition to continuing ongoing interests in display and concealment, they seem to me to speak of both the poetic and formal concerns of painting, i.e: sign and symbol; gesture and mark making; the frame and grid; surface; transience - and the need to leave a trace.

Javiera Estrada (USA)
Santa Monica College  Certificate of Photography USA

Estrada’s broad scope of work is a reflection of memories that she has shaped into her reality. A seeker of the spiritual, Estrada believes that every piece of art created is a self-portrait, a physical expression of that inner nameless world our soul inhabits. Using photography as her main visual medium, the sound of the camera's click offers her the perfect confluence between the real and the ethereal

Publications and Awards

Estrada has exhibited in galleries in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Her work is part of private and corporate collections internationally. In 2014 she won Art Slant’s Juried Competition, was a 2015 finalist for the Emerging Focus Competition, and is the 2017 winner of the ND Awards Fine Art Category

The Work "Hover" is from the series Foreign Landscapes/Another World.

A project about the relationship between me and my older brother, which is hovering in a sphere of disparities, skepticism, love and  solidarity. It is my approach to get in touch with "his" world ; analyzing , abstracting and influencing it at the same time in order to built a new way of understanding our brotherly bond.

I have been dealing with signs and symbols for many years, be they archetypes or modern media forms.
The focus of my new, complex work is above all the communication of the signs.
The feel of the works also plays an important role, since the genres of graphics, sculpture and installation are also interwoven. This complexity is also deliberately integrated into the overall context of the topic.

Works in the sculptor studio of Hans Rieser in Straubing, in bronze art foundry Gugg Straubing

His knife cuts are often sculptural objects whose presentation has an intense, immediate quality. In front of the cutouts and in the installations, the viewers find themselves in the midle of an aesthetic field of tension. Lankes is about understanding reality and dream, as well as the relationship between matter and transcendence.

My painting is always determined by the experience of the outside world, by real models, concrete situations, sometimes only by moments of perception. However, this does not necessarily mean naturalism, but the design process begins there, then runs - in the traditional sense - via sketches, designs in indefinite - or maybe predetermined - directions. A lot changes in this process, becomes more concrete or abstract, becomes a - sometimes even for me - surprising result.

Caroline Ryan (USA)

Bachelors of Fine Arts, Painting

(Both degrees from the University of Houston, obtained in 2017)

Her work has shown in a variety of galleries including the Asian American Resource Center in Austin, Texas, Beeville Art Museum in Beeville, Texas, the Lawndale Art Center in Houston, Texas, and Project Row Houses in Houston, Texas, among others.

Her work consists of mainly figurative work done using acrylic paint, gouache and watercolor. Ryan uses photographs as the references for her paintings; these photographs are a mix of photos she has taken and old family photos. Ryan references these photos to reflect on the relationship between photography and painting, and the ways that the two capture the ephemeral.

Color cannot exist without shape. In Yuliia Koval's work, color has taken on a form that gives her the freedom to be nothing more than color. The meaning lies solely in the individual gaze of the viewer who has come to enter his own story, his own associations in the space of possibilities

Bringing Leonie Felle's work to a simple denominator is not easy, especially since she works in very different media, ranging from installations and photographs to music appearances - under the name »Leonie sings«. The fact that her artistic way of working oscillates between documentary approaches, fragmentary sketches, ephemeral forms of presentation and pop music performance before it finally condenses in completed, mostly installation-based works also removes these overly simple explanations and commitments.….

That together results for me as Beauty. Everything else, this delusion of youth and perfection is just a manipulated fiction. From this perspective, I find today's ideal of beauty scandalous. About his work on auction

The artistic movement which is generally called “orientalism” took off in the
eighteenth century and had its roots in the fascination exerted by the Orient
on the artists and scientists of the time. More than a study of the Orient as
such, it actually tells more about the vision of artists and their way of
phantasizing the East.
In our times of mass tourism and social networks, where going East is a
mere matter of booking a plane ticket, how can we revisit this movement ?
This is the topic of my project called “Photorientalism”.

Art is for Valérie Yong-Ju Barthélémy,  understanding of the self and understanding of the world.

She sees herself as a committed artist to bring change in people and society by showing the hidden soul of human beings.

She usually begins a work with an idea, a feeling, a movement. This first material grows itself and the artist accompanies it in all its forms: dream, poem, colours, movement, music, join to a new form
